MY EARLY READING EXPERIENCE

Honestly I did not read much but I force myself to read for the sake of examination. As I remember, during my childhood time, I love reading very much. when I grow up my interest in reading fade away. I do not why, maybe I am a kind of intrinsic motivational person. I just read when something motivate me to do so. I do admit that reading is one way to improve english language proficiency and because of that I am trying my best to motivate myself to read at least magazines, newspaper and simple short stories.
As I reflected back my reading history,it begins at age five. I was keen on reading when I saw symbols and anything that looked like interesting. The first alphabet that I used to know is “Y”. My sister is the person who encourages me to read. She taught me how spell and say the alphabets correctly.
Actually I could not remember my actual age of reading. My sister said that I started to read word by word and later on I started to understand on my own. I still keep my childhood books as my collections. The books are fables around the world, fairy tales and a dictionary with colorful picture.
When my mother sent to kindergarten, I did not face much problem in reading. Thus, I become more enthusiastic in reading. I still remember the fairy tales books such as snow white, Cinderella, beauty and the beast were my favorites reading at that time. Fortunately, my family are very supportive as they kept buying me a lot of books, if not I might be an illiterate person.
I do hope that I will change my attitude and I should remind myself about the importance of reading. I do not want to be left behind just because of lacking in reading. I should realize that reading can bring escapism to our reality life and also for the sake of knowledge.
